Books are some of my favorite holiday gifts — to give and to receive. Here are some that passed under our tree this year.

What books did you give or receive this season?
Thanks for asking, Pat! I got my second copy of “Ballad” by Maggie Stiefvater (loved it so much I gave the first one to a friend) and “Fire,” a collection of stories by Robin McKinley and Peter Dickinson. Life is good.

Getting Ready for Marriage Workbook by Jerry D. Hardin and Diane C. Sloan
Also set of Arm Chair Readers for youngest son, and two books with CD’s on designing boards and cars on the computer. Fire on the Rim for hubby and several books in a series for my neice by Char Simpson.
Dawn — I think I need to check out the book about parenting teens in a MySpace World. And, Georgia, Ballad sounds really good!

Now, I just wish I had time to read them.

Oh, I forgot this one:
‘The Princess Bride’ unabridged.
I also received Percy Jackson for Christmas (and read them all non-stop for New Years). Actually I got two sets and learned that I need a separate list for my family and my husband’s.
I haven’t read Percy Jackson yet, I’m ashamed to admit. I will have to check it out.

The girls always get books for Christmas and Easter. This year I had difficulty finding books with limited time between all my jobs etc.
So Megan got a Fancy Nancy book and a gift card to Barnes & Noble (her eye lit right up!)
Kara got the first two Twilight books, and will get the others soon. They usually both get cookbooks, but they asked for no more cookbooks right now! LOL!
